Newport Art Museum’s final Artist Day hosts artist William Heydt to lead live drawing. Heydt is a portrait painter who has run the RI Open Drawing Sessions for the last twenty-two years. With no formal instruction on the process, artists at all levels of experience are welcome to interpret the session in their own voice.

Meet on the Griswold lawn for the drawing session in collaboration with Rhode Island Open Drawing, with easels, drawing pads, and charcoal provided by Heydt. A model will be present with a variety of costumes and poses to challenge and inspire artists, and participants are welcome to draw a pose and take their drawings at the end. Artists attending this event must be 18+. Artists are welcome to park at the Museum, but as parking may be limited, other forms of transport are encouraged.
