The Newport Bermuda Race is a 636-mile biennial ocean sailing competition from Newport, Rhode Island, to Bermuda. Established in 1906, it’s the oldest regularly scheduled ocean race and one of the few international distance races held almost entirely out of sight of land, alongside the Transpac Race.

Gates are open from 1200 – 5:00 PM

Cannon Signal

The cannon will signal the countdown to the first start.

First start  1:10 PM 

First class crosses the starting line

Each subsequent class is every 10 minutes

Last Class starts  3:00 PM 

Sailors are off!

By 3:10 the last boat will cross the line and the teams will be headed out to the Atlantic but the fun doesn’t need to stop. A replay and food trucks and bars will be open until 5 pm.
