In partnership with the Museum of Newport Irish History and supported in part by a grant from the Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Commission (RI250), Fort Adams Trust hosts a special summer lecture exploring the overlooked role of Irish and Irish-American individuals in shaping the American Revolution and the construction of Fort Adams. Featuring historian Christian McBurney, this program will connect Revolutionary-era history with the lived experiences of the laborers, soldiers, and craftsmen who helped shape both the nation and the Fort itself. The evening will include a featured lecture by Christian McBurney, live music and reception, moderated discussion with historical partners, cash bar and public Q&A. This program brings national history to life through a deeply local lens.
